Section 1 Information on the collection of personal data

[1] Below we provide you with information on the collection of personal data when using our website. Personal data is all data that relates to you personally, e.g. name, address, email addresses, and user behavior.

[2] The data controller according to Article 4(7) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is Metalltechnik Menges GmbH, Richard-Wagner-Strasse 13, 55435 Gau-Algesheim, Germany

[3] When you contact us by email at info@metalltechnik-menges.de or via a contact form, we store the data you provide (your email address and, if applicable, your name and phone number) in order to respond to your queries. We delete the data that is created for this purpose after storage is no longer required, or we restrict processing of such data if we are required to retain the data by law.

[4] If we use service providers to provide specific functions on our website on our behalf or would like to use your data for advertising purposes, we will inform you in detail of the relevant processes. When doing so, we also state the defined criteria for the storage period.

Section 3 Collection of personal data when you visit our website

[1] If you only use the website for information, i.e. if you do not register or otherwise send information to us, we only collect the personal data that your browser sends to our server. If you want to view our website, we collect the following data, which is technically necessary for us to display our website to you and to guarantee stability and security (the legal basis for this is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR):

  • Date and time of the request
  • Time zone difference compared to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
  • Content of the request (specific page)
  • Access status/http status code
  • Data volume transferred in each case
  • Website from which the request is made
  • Browser
  • Operating system and interface
  • Language and version of the browser software

[2] In addition to the above data, cookies are stored on your computer when you use our website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your hard drive for the browser you are using and they provide certain information to the party who has created the cookie (in this case, that is us). Cookies cannot run programs or transfer viruses to your computer. They are used to make the website as a whole more user-friendly and effective.

a) This website uses the following types of cookies, the scope and functionality of which are explained below:

  • Transient cookies (see b)
  • Persistent cookies (see c)

b) Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. These include session cookies in particular. They contain a session ID that is use to link different requests from your browser to the same session. This means your computer can be recognized when you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close your browser.

c) Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a predefined period, which may be different depending on the cookie. You can delete the cookies in the security settings of your browser at any time.

d) You can configure your browser settings according to your preferences and e.g. refuse third-party cookies or all cookies. Please note that, in this case, you may not be able to use all the features of this website.

e) We use cookies to identify you on subsequent visits, if you have an account with us. Otherwise, you would have to log in again every time you visit the website.

f) Flash cookies that are used are used by your Flash plug-in not your browser. We also use HTML5 storage objects, which are stored on your device. These objects store the required data, regardless of the browser you are using, and have no automatic expiration date. If you do not want Flash cookies to be processed, you must install an appropriate add-on, such as Better Privacy for Mozilla Firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/betterprivacy/) or the Adobe Flash Killer Cookie for Google Chrome. You can prevent HTML5 storage objects being used by switching your browser to private mode. We also recommend that you manually delete your cookies and browser history on a regular basis.
